"LOST DREAM"

Dreamer

Mix Media
Medium Used: Charcoal, Acrylic Paints and Graphite Pencils.

I've always struggled to figure out what I want to do in the future, and I've always felt like the steps I take to achieve something end up getting me lost. It was a difficult year for me, particularly during the pandemic, when job opportunities were dwindling and many families were severely impacted. Even though I was emotional, I chose to be a positive person. My dreams provide me with hope and freedom, which has been extremely beneficial to me during this pandemic. The spruce trees are a metaphor for me being lost in the future and unable to navigate it. The bright flowers around the spruce trees, on the other hand, are my dreams, which carry hope and serve as a symbol of light in this dark time.

The Beauty Within

Technique: Mark Making, Mix Media
Medium: Acrylic Paints, Graphite Pencils

Are we enough? sometimes I do feel that we are living in this world where we label ourselves base on what society thinks of us and not being able to see ourselves as an indiividual. I was inspired by individuality and beauty, and by the fact that everyone is beautiful in their own way. For this artwork, I use mark making as my technique. To create a glitch-like effect, I use a sponge and a variety of acrylic paints which is my signature style in my art practise.

What Is Real Anymore?

Technique: Mark Making, Mix Media
Medium: Acrylic Paints, Charcoal

A person may appear attractive on the outside, but there are many secrets hidden on the inside that are kept for all eternity to avoid judgment and humiliation. What is real these days? In today's society, where beauty can be easily altered and personalities can shift over time. Part of the blame can be attributed to the rise of social media which masked us in the reality.

Inspired by African mask, I was fascinated by the culture and African arts which are mostly vibrant and geometric shapes. This artwork is an experiment of the mark making technique using sponge.
